Commercial Organics

Once your collection bag is full, just tie it securely in a knot (no twist ties, please!). Then, simply toss the tied bag into your designated commercial organics container.

You have options! We recommend using any brand of BPI-certified compostable bags, as they are designed to be strong and break down properly. While brown paper bags can also work, just be aware that they might not hold up as well if you have a lot of wet or heavy food scraps.

Great question! “BPI Certified” is like an official seal of approval for compostable products. It means an item has been scientifically tested to ensure it will break down completely and safely in a commercial composting facility. You can always spot these products by looking for the BPI logo on the item or its packaging.

You shouldn’t notice any new issues. After all, it’s the same food waste your business has always produced, just separated into a different container. To keep things tidy, we always recommend using collection bins with snug-fitting lids inside your facility before taking the bags to your large outdoor container.

There are so many great benefits! From significantly reducing your landfill waste and lowering your carbon footprint to showing your customers that you’re a leader in sustainability, composting is a powerful choice.

Once our truck picks up the material from your dedicated organics container, it’s taken directly to a state-permitted industrial composting facility. There, it’s carefully processed and transformed into nutrient-rich compost, a valuable product used in local landscaping and agriculture.

It makes a huge impact! For many businesses, organic material can be a third or even more of the total waste stream. By composting it, your business saves valuable landfill space, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, and turns that waste into a useful resource. It’s a simple change that makes a big statement about your commitment to sustainability.
