Food Scraps Bag Program

Our Public Drop-Off Facility is expanding to support the future of the Food Scraps Bag Program. This project is creating the space and infrastructure needed for new technology that will improve how food scraps bags are processed.

 

A key part of this expansion is an AI-powered robotics system designed to help sort and process material more efficiently as the program grows. During construction, our Public Drop-Off Facility will remain open and available for normal customer use during regular business hours.

 

Eligible residents in Ramsey and Washington Counties may soon have the opportunity to participate in the county’s Food Scraps Pickup Program through an opt-in enrollment process. Walters is preparing to support this initiative through our expanded processing capabilities once construction is complete.

I had a deflated swim tube in my trash can that I am guessing may have got stuck when trying to dump in the Walters truck because it was still there at the end of the day. I called the next morning and spoke to Laura and her customer service skills were second to none. She was super friendly and without hesitation, she offered to send a truck back out to my location to get it emptied. Walters is the BEST!!

I was a few minutes late to getting my trash to the curb and realized the truck had already gone by. I emailed the customer service and asked if my trash could still get picked up and they said they’d have the truck swing back. Very helpful!
