Mark your calendars! Weather permitting, our yard waste collection service will begin on Monday, April 6, 2026, and run all the way through the last full week of November. As a friendly reminder, this is a prepaid service, so please be sure your invoice is paid before your first scheduled pickup.

To help our drivers stay safe and ensure your service is always on time, we’ve officially included the 4 extra bags or bundles as part of your weekly service. This helps our team work efficiently and ensures we can get to every home on schedule!

Wondering what exactly counts as "yard waste"?
According to Minnesota guidelines, it’s all the natural stuff from your lawn and garden, like garden trimmings, leaves, grass cuttings, weeds, and waste from shrubs and trees.
We look forward to making your life easier this season.

Here's what we love to see:
You can include all of these organic materials in your yard waste pickup:
From the Lawn:
- Grass clippings
- Leaves
- Thatch
- Pine needles
- Pinecones
- Acorns
- BPI Certified lawn and leaf bags
From the Garden:
- Weeds
- Dead flowers
- Expired plants
- Vines
- Other garden waste (like old tomato plants).
From Trees & Shrubs:
- Prunings
- Shrub trimmings
- Twigs
- Small branches
- Brush
Please cut them into 4-foot lengths and tie them in bundles no wider than 18 inches
Please leave these items out:
To ensure your yard waste can be properly composted, please do not include any of the following materials.
Non-Compostable & Landscaping Materials
All Plastic Bags
- This includes black lawn bags, clear bags, orange bags, and any “compostable” or “biodegradable” bags that are not BPI-Certified paper.
Landscape & Hardscape Materials
- Landscape fabric or weed barriers
- Plastic or metal edging
- Rocks, gravel, bricks, or concrete pavers
- Ceramic pots
Plastic Nursery Items
- Plastic plant pots (any size)
- Plastic seedling trays or flats
- Plastic hanging baskets and liners
Contaminating Natural Materials
Soil, Dirt & Sod
- Large amounts of dirt, soil (including potting soil), or sod clumps.
Large Wood & Stumps
- Large branches (thicker than 6 inches in diameter)
- Tree stumps or large roots
- Entire logs
Processed Wood Products
- Mulch (dyed or natural)
- Wood chips
- Lumber (of any kind)
- Treated wood, fence posts, or landscape timbers
- Sawdust
General Trash & Other Waste
Household Garbage
- Regular trash or food waste (kitchen scraps)
- Pet waste or animal manure
Recycling
- Any items from your regular curbside recycling (bottles, cans, paper, cardboard).
Other
- Garden hoses, tools, or gloves
- Metal or glass of any kind
