Now Available for Anoka County Residents
We’re excited to offer our easy curbside organics program to our neighbors in Coon Rapids and Lino Lakes!
Don’t live in those cities? No problem!
You can still participate in making our community greener. Anoka County offers convenient drop-off sites, and many other local cities and townships have their own programs for residents.

Your Easy Guide to
Getting Started with Curbside Organics
01
Give Us a Call to Sign Up!
Ready to join? The first step is to call our friendly team at 763.780.8464.
Joining ensures our drivers know to look for your special organics bag on collection day.
The program has a simple, non-taxable fee of $10 per month, but we’ll thank you for participating by reducing your regular trash bill by $3 each month!
(Note: *The $3.00 monthly base-rate reduction applies to single-family residential homes only and does not apply to HOA-serviced properties.)
02
Grab the Right Bags
For our special co-collection system to work, we need to use a specific type of super-strong, BPI-certified compostable bag. We’ve tested them thoroughly, and the only brand we recommend is the Moonygreen 13-Gallon Compostable Bag.
You can order them directly from Amazon at your convenience, and they’ll be shipped right to your door.
03
Set Up a Kitchen Pail
You’ll need a handy container in your kitchen to collect your food scraps. You can get creative here! Many people use a simple container they already have, like an old ice cream bucket or coffee can. You can also purchase a special kitchen compost pail from a local store or online.
04
Start Collecting!
Line your kitchen pail with one of your new compostable bags and start tossing in your organics!
This includes things like:
- Fruit and veggie scraps
- Coffee grounds and filters
- Eggshells Paper towels, napkins, and tissues
- Other food scraps and food-soiled paper
Find out what else you should and should not add to your organics kitchen pail. You’ll be surprised how much you can divert from the trash!
05
On Collection Day
When it’s time for your regular trash pickup, simply tie the 13-gallon compostable bag securely. Then, just place the bag right on top of the other trash INSIDE your regular trash cart.
Our drivers will spot the special bag, pull it out separately, and make sure it gets to the composting facility to be turned into healthy soil. It’s that easy!
