Hope 4 Youth

A local organization that helps young people ages 16-24 who are experiencing homelessness in the north metro area.

 

Events we participate in:

  • Darkest Night of Your Life 4K
  • Once-a-month meal service where we prepare a hot meal for homeless teenagers at the shelter
  • We donated mom packs for teen moms to help them with essentials for a newborn.
  • We do a local food drive to help stock the shelves
  • We make an in-kind donation for their Out of the Cold fundraising event.
  • We adopt teens for Christmas and purchase items from their want and wish list.

Used to be a customer with another server, they kept forgetting to pick up my trash, so I dumped them. Came to Walter’s and they have never forgot to pick up my trash! Me and my neighbors are thankful!

Trash came early today and I missed getting my trash out due to the storm. Called the office to see if the driver could back and was told no. Trash was then picked up a hour after I called. Shout to the driver who came back and the office staff who made this happen.

There were some hiccups a couple of weeks in a row. After posting a poor, angry review, they called me. For the driver's safety they need a cart to toss bags into the truck and didn't have one last week. The answered all my concerns and offered free service to compensate. Now if only yard waste service was cheaper

the costs for seasonal yard waste has gone up from $129 in 2021, $144 in 2022 to $195 for this year. This is just too much of an increase for this service.

It's sad that Walter's is one of the last local garbage haulers. They have been great. I switched to them when our previous local hauler got bought out by a large corporation that then doubled our rate. Walter's keeps prices low and they do not cut corners. They are everything that a big corporation can never be.

Review Update:After posting this review they reached out right away to try to correct the issue. They offered a one time discount (1 month free) and would be speaking with their driver. 2 weeks later we had the same issue but after that we’ve had great service!! No more blocked driveway or dumped bins, Yay! HOWEVER my concern over the increased costs was never addressed and for that reason I am giving 4 stars.Original post:We moved to the area in 2018 and have been with Walter’s since then. At the beginning their service was great but not so much anymore… our prices have doubled and I don’t know what is going on with our recycling pick up!?? At first it was dropping it down wherever they felt like, then it was literally in the middle of our driveway over and over but now just yesterday they didn’t even get it emptied, dropped it to the ground and spilled recycling all over the lawn!! I drove down our road and everyone’s recycling bins were a mess! Please please please do something about your recycling driver, this has been going on for awhile and only getting worse.

I watched today as my trash was being picked up as a bunch of paper fell out to the ground. I have watched other companies simply drive off. I watched from my cameras heading to the door to pick this up when he left. Many are waiting to comment well that's their job to stop and get it. Understood this driver did just that got out grabbed the paper that was most likely from me overstuffing the can.The fact is he took the time I have been in transportation operations for 25 years and quality is hard to find. There are many choices and are they the cheapest I hope not. I'm not looking for the cheapest company I wanted the reliable, professional company and I thank you from the top down for providing this.

We switched to Walters this summer and have been very pleased with the service. The quarterly billed fee is very reasonable (they charged us exactly the amount quoted), the container was delivered as promised, and weekly trash pickup has been like clockwork. We highly recommend Walters for your trash hauler!
